Pastor Stephen Bohr

This morning we are going to finish our study of Revelation chapter 17 in this first session, and then we are going to continue studying other elements of the syllabus that we have not covered yet.

I just want to review a little bit on the river dragon concept that we find in Scripture, and specifically in Revelation chapter 17.

Somebody asked me yesterday whether it would be possible to conclude that there is a river dragon concept in Scripture, without going to the civilizations of antiquity to discover their view.

And I think that we have enough evidence that we could determine that even without the background from archaeology.

Mystery BabylonIf you go to Revelation chapter 12 you have a seven headed dragon; and it must have seven mouths, but only one mouth is spewing out water. So then you go to Revelation chapter 17 and it says that the heads are mountains, therefore what is it that’s spewing out waters?

It’s the mountains, and the harlot is seated on the many waters that are coming from the mountains, or the heads, so if you took revelation 12, 13, and 17 and you put together all the idea of the heads and the mountains and the waters, I believe that you could actually figure it out without necessarily going to archaeology.
